Gare Thompson, Director of Content Development
Gare Thompson has written over 200 children’s books. He has also created, produced, and planned market launch for bestselling-reading programs, such as Pair-It Books and Reading Expeditions. He has written children’s plays produced in New York and Boston as well as Readers’ Theater plays for such publishers as Scholastic and Benchmark Education. He has developed content for interactive whiteboard activities, video, and iPad applications. Gare also wrote three bestselling professional books for teachers: 52 Everyday Activities to Do With Paperbacks, Teaching Using Trade Books, and Theme Teaching.. As a former teacher, Gare has also led teacher workshops on how to improve reading comprehension and how to use trade paperbacks in the classroom.
Jocelyn Randles, Market Research
Jocelyn Randles founded her own US market research consultancy specializing in educational publishing in 1997 after a successful market research career in England. She has enjoyed repeat business from a small number of educational publishing clients including Houghton Mifflin and Pearson. They enjoy her efficiency, attention to detail, creativity, and actionable recommendations. Jocelyn is now partnering with Pegeen Wright Associates for Pre-K—12 educational technology research. She offers a range of qualitative and quantitative research techniques including focus groups, in-depth interviews, bulletin boards and online surveys. Jocelyn is a former teacher with a Masters in Education.
Pegeen Wright is an experienced strategic planner, software developer, and project manager who translates what’s new in emerging technologies, learning, and curriculum research into what works in the classroom and the marketplace. She has a longstanding commitment to making learning accessible to students with special needs and draws on over 20 years of experience in the educational publishing industry.
